How we compared

We compared what seven AI girlfriend and companion apps cost, using their published pricing pages, subscription docs, terms, refund policies and help articles, plus App Store listings. These are the seven apps in our full companion comparison. The table above shows all nine companion dimensions side by side, last checked on 24 October 2026.

For this report, cost comes first. We looked at four parts of it: the entry price, the monthly and yearly price, what costs extra in tokens or credits, and what happens at renewal and on cancellation. Then we looked at what you get for the money: memory, photos and calls, written content rules and privacy.

Where a price appears only behind a login or only on a review site, we mark it as third-party. Where an app does not publish a price, we say so and do not guess. Some yearly figures below are our own sums of published monthly prices, and we show how we got them. App Store prices can differ from web prices, and some apps say so. How much does an AI girlfriend app cost per month?

Entry prices run from about $3.69 a month to $15.99 a month, but the cheapest prices need a yearly payment up front.

Two apps change price after the first period. Candy AI’s monthly plan rises from $9.99 to $13.99. DreamGF’s monthly plan rises from $12.99 to $25.98, about double, and its 3-month and yearly plans also rise on renewal. DreamGF’s separate pricing page shows other figures, so check the price at checkout.

Monthly or yearly: what does a year cost?

Paying yearly saves the most on every app that publishes both prices. These first-year sums use the published monthly prices.

• Kindroid. Twelve months at $15.99 is $191.88, against $159.99 for the yearly plan. Yearly saves $31.89.
• Nomi. Twelve months of Standard at $15.99 is $191.88, against $99.99 for Standard yearly. Yearly saves $91.89. Twelve months of the $9.99 Launch Plan is $119.88, against $59.99 for Launch yearly. Yearly saves $59.89.
• ourdream.ai. Twelve months at $19.99 is $239.88, against $119.88 a year. Yearly saves $120.
• Candy AI. One month at $9.99 and eleven at $13.99 is $163.88, against $47.88 a year. Yearly saves $116.
• DreamGF. One month at $12.99 and eleven at $25.98 is $298.77. The yearly plan is listed at $44.28 for the first year and $88.56 after that.

Joi AI does not publish its prices, and Secrets AI shows its prices only after login. A third-party source reports $109.99 a year (about $9.17 a month) on yearly billing for Secrets AI.

What costs extra?

The subscription is only part of the cost. Every app here charges separately for some media, and the credit systems differ.

Kindroid. Chat is unlimited. Selfie credits come in packs of 50 or 100, and audio credits in a 500k pack for voice above the monthly grant. The Ultra and MAX tiers are add-ons at $28.99 and $68.99.

Nomi. Nomi Credits pay for videos and for requests after daily limits run out. Packs start at 40 credits for $4.99.

ourdream.ai. OurDream’s homepage FAQ says both plans include 1,000 dreamcoins each month. Its help center says subscribers receive 1,000 dreamcoins on their billing anniversary and that dreamcoins do not refresh monthly. Ask support how this applies to the yearly plan before you budget around it. Voice calls cost 50 coins a minute, 2 images cost 10 coins, video costs 100 coins per 5 seconds, and a reply from a premium model costs 1 coin. A 1,000-coin grant covers about 20 minutes of calls or 50 seconds of video.

Joi AI. Neurons pay for explicit messages at 4 each, photos at up to 120 and videos at up to 1,900. Neurons are sold separately.

Secrets AI. Moments pay for microtransactions. Third-party sources put an image at 50 Moments, an adult clip at 600 and a call at 50 a minute.

Candy AI. Chat is unlimited. 100 tokens a month (330 on Premium Plus) pay for images, video, voice messages, calls and custom companions. A third-party source puts an image at about 4 tokens.

DreamGF. 100 tokens a month pay for companions at 20, images at 10, voice messages at 3 and voice calls at 7 a minute. That is about 14 minutes of calls a month. A $1.99 monthly maintenance charge may also apply.

What happens when you cancel?

Refund rules matter, because most of these apps renew automatically and few give money back.

• Kindroid. The 3-day trial needs a payment method and converts to a paid plan. Refunds are case-by-case, and sales are generally final.
• Nomi. Plans auto-renew, and benefits last to the end of the period. Payments are not refundable except at Nomi’s discretion.
• ourdream.ai. Access lasts to the end of the period. There is no refund once more than 25% of a plan is used, and crypto payments are not refunded.
• Joi AI. You cancel in settings. There are no refunds for partial periods, and the 14-day refund applies only to fraud or a one-time error.
• Secrets AI. Payments and Moments purchases are final, apart from a 14-day right on the first purchase in the EU and UK.
• Candy AI. Refunds apply only within 24 hours, for card payments, with 20 tokens or fewer used. EU and UK users have a 14-day right.
• DreamGF. There is no refund after any use, and a promotion can lock cancellation for 30 days.

How can you keep the cost down?

Five habits cut the cost of any app in this group, based on the published rules above.

Start free. Nomi’s free chat needs no card, and DreamGF gives a daily bonus of 10 to 50 messages. Kindroid’s free preview is one-time, so use it to judge memory before you start the trial.

Check where you buy. Kindroid’s docs say the web price is usually lower than the App Store price. Nomi’s published prices come from its App Store listing. Buying in an app store also means refund requests go through that store.

Watch the first-period price. Candy AI and DreamGF both charge less for the first month. Note the renewal price and the date before you subscribe.

Count media, not messages. Chat is unlimited on Kindroid and Candy AI paid plans. Nomi’s credits pay for requests after daily limits run out. Photos, calls and video are what use up credits. If you mainly want calls, compare per-minute costs: 50 dreamcoins on ourdream.ai and 7 tokens on DreamGF.

Cancel early if you are unsure. Kindroid’s trial converts to a paid plan, and a DreamGF promotion can lock cancellation for 30 days. Cancelling keeps access to the end of the paid period on most apps.

What do you get for the money?

Nomi: why is it the best value? Nomi gives free chat with no card, so you can try it before you pay. Its Launch yearly plan costs $59.99 on the App Store, less than any other yearly plan here except Candy AI’s $47.88 and DreamGF’s $44.28 first year. Standard yearly costs $99.99, still less than Kindroid’s or ourdream.ai’s yearly plans. Nomi has short, medium and long-term memory, selfies, AI video, voice messages and hands-free voice calls, with apps on web, iOS and Android. The App Store listing does not say which features each plan includes. Its weak points are that its adult rules sit only in its App Store listing and its policy refers to training archives.

Kindroid: the most for the money. Kindroid has the highest published yearly price here, $159.99, but it gives the most documented memory, live voice and video calls, written NSFW rules and apps on every platform. It is our overall companion pick.

ourdream.ai: media in one plan. ourdream.ai includes images, video and voice calls in its plan, paid in dreamcoins. It suits users who want media more than memory.

Joi AI: pay per message. Joi AI does not publish its plan prices and charges Neurons for explicit messages. Budget carefully if you chat a lot.

Secrets AI: clear deletion rules. Secrets AI hides its prices behind a login, but its data-deletion rules are clear.

Candy AI: a low yearly price. Candy AI costs $47.88 a year, less than every other yearly plan here except DreamGF’s first year, and has unlimited chat, but only 100 tokens a month for media. See our Candy AI alternatives report for other options.

DreamGF: cheap first month. DreamGF has a low first payment, but the monthly price about doubles on renewal and nothing is refunded after use.

Which one should you choose?

Choose Nomi if you want the best value. Start with free chat, and if you like it, the Launch yearly plan costs $59.99, about $5 a month, and Standard yearly costs $99.99. Nomi has strong memory and voice calls.

Choose Kindroid if you want the most complete companion and can pay $159.99 a year. Choose Candy AI if price matters most and you mainly want to chat, since its tokens cover little media. Choose ourdream.ai if you want images and video in one plan. Before you pay for DreamGF, note the renewal price, and before you pay for Joi AI or Secrets AI, check the price at checkout, because neither publishes it openly.

Whatever you choose, pay yearly only after a free trial or a single month, because refunds are rare across all seven apps.
